Touhou Project: Archaic Akashic Record
A downloadable game
A visual novel inspired by Dolls in Pseudo Paradise. A pair of witches in the outside world attempt to break into Gensokyo, researching it by replaying the last moments of outsiders buried in Muenzuka in the hopes of learning from the mistakes of the fallen. But will that be enough for them to understand what's meant to be impossible to understand? Can they really find a place to belong among the forgotten?
---
Not really horror but does contain themes of death and some gory descriptions.
Approximately 2 hours in length total.
Touhou Project is the property of Team Shanghai Alice and is used under license.

Lovely work! Quite like the flow of this, still dont understand what toho is but I enjoy this! ♥️
Thanks so much! I’m glad there doesn’t seem to be a large knowledge barrier, I was definitely a little worried about that.
Drawing for you. I liked them a normal amount. 8)
Been trying to think of a better way to say, "this story made me miserable; I loved it" for a couple days now, but I think that really does sum it up pretty well.
I don't know a whole lot about Touhou, so sorry if some of my thoughts on this end up being a little off-base, but a lot of this story feels based in a grief of having missed out on the Touhou community in its "heyday," which is an extremely interesting meta-conversation to me.
I really enjoyed your soundtrack choices and how you arranged them. I've had that one chase theme in my head for a few days now.
One small suggestion I do have would be to give the chapters titles. When looking back through them to try to determine the puzzle's order, I had to revisit a few chapters multiple times, and it was a little difficult to remember which ones were which. But that's literally my only complaint with this whole thing; I really, really liked it.

I'm literally so sad about these two.
Whoa thanks so much! It's definitely a little bit meta, but I'm glad that comes across in an interesting way.
Chapter titles is a pretty good idea, it shouldn't be much trouble to add them to the chapter select screen at least.
